In this age of globalization English has become the most useful language in the fields of education, research and development, and keeping this idea in view the syllabus of both undergraduate and graduate programs has been designed to help develop your skill in writing, speaking and comprehension to a great extent. The recent establishment of the The University of Comilla (UNIC) Language Laboratory with the support from the World Bank under the HEQEP Project of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of Bangladesh will greatly benefit you to fulfill your dream of being proficient in English. In BA (Hons.) in English Program, the syllabus includes major authors of English Literature from the 15th to the 20th Centuries and some courses on language and linguistics are also included to develop your skills in those fields. MA in ELT Program includes English Language Teaching, a comprehensive understanding of the areas of Applied Linguistics, and Research Methodology. Recently introduced MA in Literature program offers courses on Shakespeare, Modern Poetry, Modern English Fiction, Modern American Fiction, Modern Literary Theory, European Literature in Translation, Postcolonialism and Literature, postmodernism and Literature, Latin American Literature, Women and Literature and Cultural Studies including a course on Research Methodology in Literature and Cultural Studies. Students genuinely interested in literature will find this program very useful and entertaining.
